Bethesda Community Garden Club Cares and Conserves
We care for and maintain the plantings at the Bethesda and Davis Public Libraries and assist and train the county crews on pruning the shrubs around both libraries. We also work with Maryland National Capital Park and Planning in an effort to control the invasive vines killing trees along Little Falls Parkway.
Our club cares for the well being of the community and of its members. Our courtesy committee keeps track of members who are ill or need assistance. We offer ride sharing to our meetings and take great pains to support recycling in the preparation and serving of meals for our luncheon meetings and annual summer social.
Meetings
Regular monthly meetings of the Club are held at 10:30 a. m. at the St. Mark Presbyterian Church, Old Georgetown Road. They are usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month, except for November and December when it may vary to accommodate the holidays.
Lunch
Lunch is provided at the end of the program, except for those meetings noted “bring a sandwich to share,” where beverages and dessert are provided. Members are encouraged to bring guests. Please bring your own mugs to meetings to help conserve our environment.
Board Meetings
Board Meetings are held monthly, generally on the 1st Wednesday of the month to prepare for the general meeting. Meetings are held in the meeting room at Bethesda Library and begin at 10 a.m. All meetings are open for general attendance so please join us at the library if you are interested.
Snow Policy
If the Montgomery County Public Schools are closed, the Garden Club meeting is cancelled. If school opening is delayed, the meeting will be held as scheduled.
